This year we titled our theme for nurses week ‘walk in my shoes’, inspired by an incredible group of people- the staff at north shore university hospital on long island. Last year they put on an event called ‘walk in my shoes’, where senior leaders shadowed their nursing staff for a full Twelves hours.
We were humbled by the campaign and donated 60 pairs of BALAs to the participating staff this year.
Once a month we create an opportunity for TBU members to interact and connect with each other in person. This month the BALA Team invited our local Oregon TBU members to stop by our HQ office to see our creative cave, munch on pizza, and connect with one another! Thanks for stopping by Dani, Jessi, and April.
TBU member Kristin brought together the day/night shifts of her PICC team in Nebraska for PICC PAL day. Think about secret Santa in March and having the opportunity to give your shift a little gift of appreciation and some BALAS ;)
Winter is tough and everyone needs a little TLC! Community Manager Ella invited local BALA Unit members Alison and Mary to relax, unwind, and center themselves during Yoga. The little things make a big difference!
BALA celebrated our partnership with The Oregon Center for Nursing (OCN,) a nonprofit that facilitates research and collaboration for Oregon’s nursing workforce, with an interactive pop-up event. BALA donated 100% of the profits from our limited edition colorway, Defy, to The Oregon Center for Nursing (OCN); enabling OCN to launch a grant fund called the RN Well-being Project to provide mental health support for nurses in Oregon.
This event was hosted by the Californian American Nursing Association. BALA partnered with them to focus on their Wellness Campaign for nurses. In appreciation for their hard work, BALA donated 100 pairs of shoes during Nurses Week!
BALA was invited to donate 100 pairs of shoes to their nurses during Nurses Week.
BALA participated in a Nurse Week Event to educate over 5,000 nurses on their physical well being and reminding them to care for themselves before caring for others.
The event included food trucks for dinner, a live band, vendor tabletops and raffles to give away FREE shoes to these deserving nurses feet!
